The common thread of Democratic history, from Thomas Jefferson to Barack Obama, has been an abiding faith in the judgment of hardworking American families, and a commitment to helping the excluded, the disenfranchised and the poor strengthen our nation by earning themselves a part of the American Dream.
The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American. That commitment is reflected in a national agenda that emphasizes strong economic growth, affordable health care for all Americans, retirement security, open, honest and accountable government, and securing our nation while restoring and protecting our civil liberties and upholding the civil rights of all.
It is our common set of true-blue values that make the Democratic Party this country and county's best hope to bridge divisions of race, region, religion, gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation and lead us to a more prosperous, progressive, and peaceful future.
Our Democratic values and ideals shall be an example for the world to emulate and a source of inspiration to keep America's preeminence in justice as well as in providing equal opportunity to all citizens.

Clifton Park Town Democrats are committed to the principles of our Party: strength, inclusion and opportunity, as well as the issues that unite us all … open government, excellent education, safe neighborhoods, a good quality of life for everyone and a clean, healthy environment.
Clifton Park Town Democrats believe in protecting our quality of life. To succeed, the Town must be managed wisely. Our leaders must be proactive and draw on their experiences to forecast the challenges ahead. They must have vision and be able to resolve issues that stand in the way of meeting these challenges. Most importantly, they must lead in an accountable and transparent way. Future Town Administrations must engage in the kind of long range planning that makes good sense for Clifton Park in light of its unique attributes.
As Democrats, we believe Town leaders must lead the Town in a way that benefits ALL of Clifton Park without regard to politics or self interest.
What We Believe – Our Values
Leadership and a Balanced Perspective
- We believe that the role of local government is two-fold. First, to provide the long term planning and implementation of essential services to people who live in our town and second, to provide leadership in managing and developing the resources of our town for the economic, cultural, environmental and physical health of our community.
- We believe that public policy is best derived from the greatest possible participation by the public in the many forums of open government. We believe competence, accountability and transparency are the essential keys to good government.
- We believe that commercial, residential, recreational, cultural and environmental interests must all be balanced in the making of public policy decisions to achieve a high quality of life for our residents and protect our property values.
- We believe that the primary responsibility of our local government is protecting the interests of our children, our young residents, our seniors, our farms and all our taxpayers when addressing the ever emerging new challenges of life in the 21st century.
